CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns released Davone Bess, Brian Tyms and Paul Hazel.
The news was announced Wednesday.
Fox 8 News reached out to the Browns but the team did not offer more information.
Bess was arrested at a Florida airport in January for assault, disorderly conduct and resisting an officer.
He was also at the center of a social media controversy after questionable tweets and photos were posted to his verified Twitter account. One in particular showed a bag filled with a greenish-brown substance.
It was not known if those incidents had an impact on the team’s decision to let the wide receiver go.
Per the extension he signed in 2013, Bess gets $3 million guaranteed.
