CLEVELAND, Ohio — Frostee Rucker started in all 16 games for the Browns in 2012.

On Tuesday, the team released the veteran defensive lineman.

Rucker made 48 tackles from his defensive end spot and forced one fumble, and registered four sacks, but it was apparent he would not be a fit in the new 3-4 base defense that Ray Horton is running.

He signed a 5-year, $20.5 million deal last off-season and received a $5 million signing bonus and earned $6 million in guaranteed money.

He was due a $2 million roster bonus Wednesday, and the team decided to part company with him.

Rucker could be signed by another team looking for a defensive end in a 4-3 scheme.
