The Cleveland Browns and quarterback Brian Hoyer have agreed to a new two-year contract, a league source confirmed to FOX 8 Sports Anchor John Telich.

Though terms have been agreed upon, a deal has yet to be signed, according to the source.

Hoyer is a graduate of Cleveland’s St. Ignatius high where he starred for the Wildcats.

The Browns are the 4th NFL team Hoyer has played for.

He was let go by the Arizona Cardinals this week. He spent some time with the New England Patriots and Browns GM Mike Lombardi has been rumored to have had his eye on Hoyer.

It’s expected he will challenge for a backup role under the likely starter Brandon Weeden.
